MONITORING COVERAGE

What Albaspot monitors

Four categories of continuous monitoring — all from the same dashboard, across every client domain.

01

DNS record changes

  • Detects when any DNS record is added, modified, or deleted
  • Compares the live external DNS against what Albaspot expects
  • Alerts immediately on unexpected changes
  • Full monitoring history per domain

02

SSL certificate expiry

  • Tracks expiry date for all domains with SSL monitoring enabled
  • Configurable advance warning periods (30, 14, 7 days, etc.)
  • Alert escalation as expiry approaches
  • Flagged in both the domain view and monitoring dashboard

03

Domain expiry

  • Monitors registration expiry date for all managed domains
  • Configurable alert lead times to trigger renewals in time
  • Separate from auto-renew — alerts even if auto-renew is on
  • Works alongside SSL expiry alerts per domain

04

Email security drift

  • Detects if DMARC policy changes from a higher to lower enforcement level
  • SPF record modification alerts
  • DKIM selector missing or changed
  • Part of the same alert and notification system as DNS monitoring

PER-DOMAIN CONFIGURATION

Configure monitoring exactly as you need

Monitoring is enabled per domain. Once enabled, you configure alert thresholds, notification preferences, and monitoring frequency from the domain settings. You can pause monitoring for 24 hours (for planned maintenance) and resume it automatically.

  • Enable or disable monitoring per domain individually
  • Pause monitoring for a defined window (planned maintenance)
  • Configure alert lead times per alert type
  • View full monitoring history per domain
  • Re-check NS delegation on demand from the domain view

ALERT DELIVERY

Alerts delivered where you need them

In-app notifications appear in the dashboard and are cleared as you acknowledge them. Email notifications go to the team members you've configured as alert recipients.

01

In-app notifications

Alerts visible in the Albaspot dashboard notification centre — see everything at a glance when you log in.

02

Email notifications

Delivered to configured team member email addresses. Configure per-team-member notification preferences.

03

Webhook alerts

DMARC alert rules support webhook delivery for integration with Slack, Teams, or any HTTP endpoint. Test delivery directly from the alert configuration.

ALERT HISTORY

Alert history and QBR reporting

Every alert Albaspot generates is stored in a timestamped alert history per domain. When a client asks "what happened to our email last month?" or "why did the DNS change?", the answer is already there.

The alert history makes quarterly business reviews straightforward: pull up the activity for any client, filter by alert type, and you have a ready-made record of what was detected, when it was resolved, and what protective action was taken.

  • Full alert history per domain — indefinitely retained
  • Filter by alert type: DNS, SSL, domain expiry, DMARC drift
  • Timestamps, resolution status, and acknowledged-by tracking
  • Duplicate alert suppression — one alert per event, not per check cycle
